About This Quote
In the Greek mythology, for example, it was the nymph Daphne who was turned into a laurel tree. And in the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, he traveled to Hell to try and rescue her. In the story, Hades promised that if Orpheus could play his lyre so well that he could bring back Eurydice from death, she would be his forever. But, when Orpheus failed to bring her back, he was punished by being condemned to spend eternity in Hades.
